By December Emerson was scooting around in his new wheelchair apparatus.
It took a while for Emerson to get used to the chair, besides it’s never easy to get a lazy cat to walk around. “We put him in the wheelchair for a couple of hours at a time,” she said. “In the beginning, he had to get his front leg muscles built up.” To add to his injuries, he now has a permanent tilt to his head making him look a bit confused all the time. That’s not it, he has to wear a kitty diaper since he can’t control his bowel movements.
Despite all that Emerson is known for spreading love and joy at the Hulton Humane Housing.
This recovery project wasn’t easy as they were time and again questioned. Miller said,” why not put him down?” We can honestly say, he is not ready. He loves life…loves it the way it is. We love him and know every day, he is a blessing to all that meet him. He radiates strength and forgiveness. He deserves this chance, and we will give it to him.”
