Canines are one of the most loved pets on this planet. Aren’t they? I think every dog owner would agree that nothing beats the feeling of coming home to a dog, eagerly waiting for you with open arms, ready to bombard some slimy, salivating kisses and shower you with affection. In the ideal world, all mankind would also reciprocate the love with same enthusiasm and purity. But the sad reality is we do not live in an ideal world. While some people are going out of their way and helping other species to survive, in the parallel universe, some people are the flag-bearers of some choke hold brutality.
Many cases have recently come to light showcasing what all is inflicted on these loyal creatures in puppy mills, some pictures were downright brutal and sent shivers down our spine.
Meet B.B., a puppy mill poodle who was one of the victims of their sadism. She was just one of over 150 dogs, cats and goats being kept in similarly awful conditions on the property. Some were for breeding while others were waiting to be sold to buyers. So, this little one had spent all of her life locked in a tiny cage in the basement. Thankfully, Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) came to their rescue at the right time when the mill in North Carolina was raided last September.
Animal workers could tell the canine was bred over and over again.
The condition she was found in was just heart wrenching. Not only was her entire cage covered in excrement, but there was no ventilation in the room. It was shocking to see. Jessica Lauginiger, animal crimes manager at HSUS, mentioned in an interview that “She was very tiny, and she looked like this helpless creature.”
