But the reality is, nobody, absolutely nobody has the right to decide what a woman should look like. Be it freckles, thigh gap, blemishes, birthmarks or deficit or excess of certain body parts. Every woman despite her imperfections should feel beautiful no matter what people or society says and many are coming forward and breaking all the stereotypes. Mariana Mendes is one of such women who is redefining beauty in her own way.
Mariana Mendes, 24, is a woman with a large birthmark, flaunting her different self in an empowering modelling shoot to show others that it’s beautiful.
Although, her birthmark is often confused for a ‘facial tattoo’, Mendes believes that her tattoo makes her unique. Mariana is a 24 years old girl from Juiz de Fora, Brazil, who is defying her critics despite their conflicting opinions. She was constantly told that her large congenital melanocytic nevus was ‘ugly’ and ‘strange’ but she didn’t listen to anybody.
