The cats enjoy this kind of meetings and show their love to the people.
The shelter now takes its 11 senior cats out to various retirement communities in the greater-Cincinnati area a few times a month. “They cuddle them, sometimes they’ll tell them they love them,” Casey-Sturk, one of the directors, shared, “I don’t think I’ve ever left one of these events without crying.”
“Many residents cannot have pets now, so the chance to cuddle a chilled out kitty is great for them”
The residents who cannot take care of the pets due to some reasons are free to play with these senior cats and spend their day with these. Along with that they themselves can visit the shelter and meet the senior cats. “We also invite the residents to come and visit our shelter. It really is fun and a good chance to get the cats socialized,” Umerley said.
Well, the program is equally beneficial for both the sides. It is the best way to deal with their loneliness and support each other. That’s one unique way of bringing two different people together and helping them get through hard times.
